Hello, I’m Anissa!

I grew up in the Northern Virginia-Washington D.C. area, but I also consider Boston my home. Currently, I’m a senior at Boston University, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Data Science. My interest in these fields was sparked by my mentors and the experiences I had as an undergraduate student.

At BU, I have been fortunate to work with Assistant Professor Allison McDonald’s research team on the trust and safety of digital platforms. In addition to academic research, my involvement in BU Spark!, Girls Who Code, KTP Professional Technology Fraternity, and Break Through Tech AI have provided me with unique opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration centered around women in tech.

In my free time, I enjoy photography, music, creating digital art, coaching swim lessons, and hiking. In addition, I love global cuisine, whether it’s exploring new restaurants or enjoying the culinary talents of others.
